Description: Powerpoint slides containing a text box with text that is rotated 90° oder 270°, will be unusable, because the rotation is ignored upon import into Impress. NOTE: this applies to TEXT-ROTATION, not to the rotation of a box, containing text. The latter works ok. However, many powerpoint users use the rotate text funktionality. The "text direction button" is a prominent button in the Home Ribbon of Powerpoint, in the "paragraph" section (i.e., this is not a rare formatting option). In my experience, it is my number one reason, why I cannot advise people to use Impress, because so many slides will look badly imported. Keywords: FILEOPEN, FORMATTING. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open attached PPTX file in Impress 2. Text on left appear ok. text on right ("Text 2 Text Direction rotate 90°" etc.) is in reality rotated just like text on left, but using text formatting instead of a rotation of the box. 3. Actual Results: see attached screenshot Impress. Expected Results: correctly display the text as formatted. See attached screenshots Powerpoint Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: n/a

Please have a look, whether bug 51330 describes the same problem.
Yes, it looks like it is the same bug. Please do fix this bug, seemingly known since 2012. This is THE bug, that makes me and probably many others advise people that LibreOffice Impress is a big pain if ever you need to import Powerpoint slides ...
