Description TorrAB 2021-02-17 14:24:42 UTC
Description:
In Link.odt, hyperlink ‘Q0’ is supposed to lead to the last heading ‘0: Diode commandée…’ of LinTarga.odt. It does not, even if file LinTarga.odt is already open when you ^click the hyperlink.
Apparently, the problem is that the target of ‘Q0’ is too long, occupies 2 lines. Hyperlink ‘Qb’ in LinTargb.odt works.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open Link.odt
2.^click Q0
3.

Actual Results:
LinTarga.odt opens, stays at BOF

Expected Results:
jump to last heading ‘0: Diode commandée…’

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Apparently, the problem is that the target of ‘Q0’ is too long, occupies 2 lines. Hyperlink ‘Qb’ in LinTargb.odt works.

Confirming with:

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 2c8ffa41ec8e1ab2af95d5e033a445c17d29cf5a
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 18363; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (hu_HU); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

Also happens in older versions: 7.0, 6.0, 5.0, 3.5

The problem is that the wrong link points to a paragraph that contains a manual line break, which is not represented in the target offered/created by the "Target in Document" dialog.

Able to reproduce in daily master build and 3.3, so updating earliest Version from 7.1.0.3 to "Inherited From OOo"

In case someone wants to reproduce the issue from scratch, the steps below clarifies the issue per Comment 4:

1. Download attachment 169826 [details] and attachment 169827 [details]
2. Open Writer
3. Type in a word and select it
4. Insert > Hyperlink
5. Document > Path > Navigate to file LinTarga.odt from step 1 download
6. Document > Path > click target icon
7. Headings > expand headings until you can select "0: Diode commandee..."
8. Click Apply > Close
9. Click OK
10. CTRL + click hyperlink and note results (document opens at top of page of LinTarga.odt)
11. Above steps can be repeated for LinTargb.odt and note results (document opens at "0: Diode commandee" of LinTargb.odt)

Dear TorrAB,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team
