Simply start LO, open a new Writer document. LO hangs.
(In reply to Louis Steinberg from comment #1) > Simply start LO, open a new Writer document. Resize the resulting window. LO hangs.
This was with Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: fb1aa71ca3f7bec3fa6a10c4c3dec37987b213a2 CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Reproduced with new doc -> resize via mouse click and drag, Force Quit after two minutes. When reopened, LibreOfficeDev launched Document Recovery for the blank document and recovered easily. Attempting to resize recovered doc hung LibreOfficeDev again. Other documents are also hanging on resize - the issue seems to be the resize of a document, and does not seem to need a blank/new document. Thank you for reporting the bug. I can not reproduce the bug in Version: 7.0.3.1 (x64) Build ID: d7547858d014d4cf69878db179d326fc3483e082 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: nb-NO (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 761a672d62df1891b9f4f367a499b220ab2b33fa CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL
I also get this crash and can reliably reproduce it. Manually resizing doesn't usually cause it but I use MiroWindowsManager (https://github.com/miromannino/miro-windows-manager). Reproduction steps - Open / New document (I've tried Calc and Writer) - Reposition / Resize the document so that it isn't "docked" against any edge of the screen - Use the Miro ctrl+alt+cmd+F keystroke to make the window expand to full screen - Midway through the resize LibreOffice will hang Version: 7.2.2.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 02b2acce88a210515b4a5bb2e46cbfb63fe97d56 CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.16; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Apologies for not replying sooner. I hadn't added myself to the cc list so had no idea that there had been a response. (I'm used to GitHub where one is auto-added after commenting) I've tried again with a fresh profile and as it's been a while I also updated to 7.2.5.2. The application still freezes following my previous reproduction steps.
This is very likely to be bug 148435, so marking as duplicate. Louis, Eric and Metaliving: if you can still reproduce with the latest 7.5 release, please set this report back to "new". Would be great if you could confirm that it is indeed resolved. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 148435 ***
I have just tried my reproduction steps with 7.6.0 and no longer get the crash. Thanks.
