Description: Using the spell checker in Calc to check a specific column of notes, I discovered that the spell checker will only use the English(US) language despite another language (English(Australian)) being selected for the spreadsheet. Previous versions of LibreOffice did not display this issue. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Ensure the spreadsheet has a language other than English(US) configured (in my case English(Australian). 2. Select a range of cells (preferably a column) of text (comments, Notes, etc.). 3. Press F7 or select Tools - Spelling... from the menu. 4. Check the Text Language in the Spelling pop up. 5. change to the desired language and see if it sticks... Actual Results: The moment spelling resumes, the language immediately returns to English US. Expected Results: You get to check spelling in the language of choice. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: In the Options - language settings - Languages, the language of the user interface has been preset to English(USA), while other language settings have been set to the system default, English(Australia). Hello @Steve, Thank you for reporting the bug. it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice. Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Thank you for the follow up. The version upgrade appears to have resolved the issue. Regards Steve Foreman
