In my spreadsheet there are two type of validity cells. List and cell range. They contain text elements. for the first if an element of it too long for the drop down menu to make the whole visible i can simply increase the width of the column to make the whole text visible so if i increase the width of the column it increase the width if the drop down menu too. with the cell range cells i can't do it. If i increase the width of the column, the width of the drop down menu remains the same.

For me the dropdown that you show in the screenshot has its width expanded correctly. Can you re-test with 7.3?

Set to NEEDINFO.

I can confirm the problem. The validity drop-down list just has hardcoded size and font size inside and if you'll scale the sheet to 200% (and as I have 150% scale in OS in addition), then you'll see the effect
