unable to access shared file (libre calc) by crossed platform. As checked, calc files are accessible from PC connected by network. But if we open it by MS excel & update the sheet, it is not updating in calc file. But if you open calc file in libre office, updating any cell, can easily updated & all are notified it. My query is that can it be worked by crossed platform? if any changes from MS excel & Libre calc in same calc file, it should be updated.
Hello Forhad_BBL, I've marked this as RESOLVED NOTOURBUG because this is not an issue with LibreOffice, but an issue with MS Office. The LibreOffice Calc file is correctly updated on LibreOffice, hence there is no issue with the file's expected behavior. Contact MS Office regarding this issue and why you're unable to update the Calc file on their platform.
Forhad_BBL: can you describe in detail the sharing setup and how you are updating? Does updating mean saving after modifying?
Comments from others in the chat when I brought this up: that is a request to support Excel's own sharing feature - which has two flawors now: current encouraged sharepoint/onedrive-based, and legacy/hidden (similar to what we have) https://helpdeskgeek.com/office-tips/how-to-share-an-excel-file-for-easy-collaboration/ unclear which flavor they mean, and unclear if we can support it technically our own feature is https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/scalc/01/shared_spreadsheet.html?DbPAR=CALC
