Description: Libre Calc refuses a Link to External Data Steps to Reproduce: 1. New Calc 2. Sheet -> Link to External Data... 3. Fill the url field with e.g.: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Language_Teams 4. Hit Enter Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: Calc should load the webpage for a while, then a dialog pops up to ask you for import options, then available tables/ranges appear in the box. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.2.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 10(Build:2) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL A clean reinstall and a remove of the user profile doesn't change anything When using an old .ods file with a link, the updating fails with: The link could not be updated.
Works on windows Version: 7.1.2.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 8a45595d069ef5570103caea1b71cc9d82b2aae4 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 21296; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: threaded
I can't reproduce it in Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: d4f116d9576453f5974eb63db37a33c59ac53bc9 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.7; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Could you please try to reproduce it with version 7.1.3.2 of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Still the same with: Version: 7.1.3.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 10(Build:2) CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL Old references can't be updated, gives "The link could not be updated."
Above test was made from the repository download.opensuse.org/repositories/LibreOffice:/7.1/openSUSE_Leap_15.2 . Remove all of these and install the rpms from RPMS directory out of LibreOffice_7.1.3_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz . Version: 7.1.3.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 47f78053abe362b9384784d31a6e56f8511eb1c1 CPU threads: 12; OS: Linux 5.3; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL When starting /usr/bin/libreoffice7.1 direct, all functions work as expected.
Same here: Version: 7.1.3.3 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 47f78053abe362b9384784d31a6e56f8511eb1c1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.15.7; UI render: GL; VCL: osx Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded Additional observations: * Cannot create new links (as described by original reporter) * If I open an exisiting ODS, which already has external http links, LO will refuse to update them "Die Verknüpfung konnte nicht aktualisiert werden." (as described by original reporter) * If I open the existing ODS with MS Excel, the links can be updated (to be honest, I was surprised that Excel is so compatible...) Perhaps some permissions issue, that only affects linux/mac? Is there any log file, I could check for errors?
Save Mode and a new user profile did not solve this issue.

(In reply to Krzysztof from comment #8) > Same problem with external data from: > https://www.aliorbank.pl/dodatkowe-informacje/informacje/kursy-walut.html > > Libra shows > HTML_all - only text > HTML_tables - no data I reproduce. There is something specific in this table that LibreOffice is tripping over. Dear Wolfgang, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
