Description Jorge H 2021-04-09 09:26:10 UTC
Description:
Using LibreOffice 7.1.1.2 (x64). When I write a text using arab caracthers and I choose Export directly to PDF file, at the Standard bar, then it appears a short dash in some letters in the PDF file (always happens but NOT ALWAYS in the same characters).

When I export through the printer using an option of printing to PDF file -trying to save the problem-, these dashes don't appear but the file resulting is bigger a lot in Kb, so it is not a good option.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.I write a text in arabic lenguage
2.I use the option Export directly to PDF file, at the Standard bar (Exportar directamente a PDF, in Spanish lenguage which is my setting).

Actual Results:
3.A dash appears in some characters at the PDF file result, but not in the same character.
4.If I use the print option, print to pdf file, these dashes don't appear and the result is a correct pdf file (but a very bigger size aswell).

Expected Results:
5. That the dashes don't appear in the PDF file by using the Export directly to PDF file, at the Standard bar.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Obviously, don't show and don't print the dashes in the pdf file.

this is the original file. The dashes don't appear in any word.

Could you please retest it in newer LibreOffice version like 7.2.6 or 7.3.2?

I don't see the difference between ODT and result PDF file in

Thank you very much, Roman, for your attention on this bug.
I notice that many dashes(always at the end of the word) disappear in most cases using the latest version 7.3.2.2 , but unfortunately some of them still appear. I send the same file initially sent, printed in PDF format now according to the latest version.

You can see that the dash have disappeared in the translation of the word "Desierto" or in the translation of the word "Luna" (page 1, first column) -thank you very much for the correction and the extraeffort for using Spanish lenguage-. However it does not disappear at the word "Tsunami" or the word "Satélite" (page 3, last column).

In addition, I realize that these lines appear preferentially in certain letters at the end of the text.

Thanks again for the bug's correction in the most cases.

I exported and looking at Satélite I don't see the dash. Can you re-test with 7.5?
