Description: On an X-Y Scatter chart it is possible to change the axis scaling. If the x axis, for example, is a time base with values to the nearest second, then the edit box on the "Format Axis... > Scale" dialog is too short to contain the date and the time, example attached. It is possible to resize the dialog, but the box does not expand in line with this. It would be useful to have the whole date and time visible. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Make a chart which has date and time values along the x axis 2.Try editing the x axis 3. Actual Results: Date and time does not fit within the edit box Expected Results: Date and time would all be visible in the edit box Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: If the box was a little bigger it would be possible to see the whole date/time value

Task for UX-team
Caolan, the large gtk3 controls spoil the size calculation here. Do you think a size_request() works well or should this be handled somewhere else, more generic?

Not fixed. I downloaded the development build 7.3.4. Running this in parallel as a test it displays exactly the same dialog, with insufficient space. OS: Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. Cinnamon version 4.6.7 Kernel 5.4.0-107-generic
