Description BDF 2021-04-17 11:24:42 UTC
Description:
When a dictionary is click-selected under |Options > Language Settings > Writng Aids|, the dictionary is not only selected, but also disabled

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Options > Language Settings > Writng Aids
2. click any dictionary

Actual Results:
The box of the dictionary is ticked off (the dictionary is disabled) even you may just want to edit the dictionary (eg. delete a wrong that that you accidentally added to your personal dictionary)

Expected Results:
The dictionary is selected without disabling it. So that I can edit the dictionary without disabling it unnoticed.

Reproducible: Always

Disable dictionary by click-select

The dictionary is disabled (the box is unticked) when you just select it to edit it.

I confirm it with

Version: 7.1.3.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fa76d07d7006a0e2866c3247cef2d5eb55ae8369
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

I would consider this as a bug, but you also might expect, that it is deselected as soon as you click a dictionary. So let's ask design-team for a proper solution.

Linux works as expected and does not change the status on selection / single click. One has to click explicitly at the checkbox to toggle it on or off.

So it's a Windows only issue.

Unable to reproduce:

CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win

Comment 5 Shantanu 2023-04-21 05:32:13 UTC
Can not reproduce:

Version: 7.5.2.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 53bb9681a964705cf672590721dbc85eb4d0c3a2
CPU threads: 1; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 14393; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

But I remember it behaved as mentioned in the bug report on atleast one computer that I used in the past and it was very annoying. :)
