When selecting Slide and then show slide, The effects appear on the right in the Slide Transition Effects box, Some of these effects are disabled and do not have any effect when moving from one slide to another, and I will mention them by name, namely:
Tiles, Cube, Helix, Fall, Circles, Turn Down, Iris, Turn Around, Static, Rochade, 3D Venetian, Fine Dissolve, Vortex, Ripple, Newsflash and Glitter.

If you are not testing with a single empty slide you should attach real sample.
