Description: To me it seems that LO Base text database does not load .CSV files in the source folder as tables, if the file type is written in CAPS, e.g. 'source.CSV'. This seem to have worked before, as I never realized and have been working with ALL-CAPS source files previously. Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a source.CSV file and a copy source2.csv (make sure it has content) 2. create new database and choose as link "text", instead of creating new database 3. choose folder with source-files 4. once finished with the wizard, check which sources show under 'tables' Actual Results: only the source.csv shows, not the capitalized source.CSV Expected Results: all sourcefiles, regardless of CAPS, should show up Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.2.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 8a45595d069ef5570103caea1b71cc9d82b2aae4 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE Calc: threaded
I can't repro Version: 7.1.3.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: fa76d07d7006a0e2866c3247cef2d5eb55ae8369 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 21296; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL Please test with a clean profile, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode

I started LO in Safe Mode and the problem persists. source.CSV does not show in tables, renaming in source.csv works

Confirming with Version: 7.1.2.3 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a393d9064b7eb849da7f488ab43f56a404be32ae CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 11.3; UI render: default; VCL: osx Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); UI: fr-FR Calc: threaded It is also easy to reproduce: 1) When setting up the database, select a source folder containing several CSV files with lower case csv extensions. 2) In the file manager, change one of the CSV files to a "CSV" (all caps) file extension. 3) Now refresh the table view in Base. 4) Notice how the all caps file extension disappears from the list of tables. 5) Re-setting the file extension back to lower case, and refreshing the table view via Display > Refresh tables, brings back the missing table in to the list of tables.
Dear derfred, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
