Description Michael Warner 2021-05-18 12:58:14 UTC
Description:
While attempting to reproduce bug 66312, I noticed that while there is space between a section number and section title in the source document, there is no space in the exported XHTML document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open attachment from bug 66312
2. Choose File->Export...
3. Save as type XHTML
4. Open XHTML file in a web browser

Actual Results:
No space between the section number and section title. I checked this in Mozilla Firefox 78.10.1esr and Microsoft Edge 90.0.818.62. Look at the attached export file.

Expected Results:
Space between the section number and section title, as shown in the source document.

Reproducible: Always

File for reproducing is attachment 81633 [details]

I can confirm the spacing issue in LO 7.2 alpha1: the XHTML export has the title right next to the number once you get to level 2 headings.

It's like the export does not save the "width of numbering" setting (which you can see in Tools > Chapter Numbering > Position. It is set to 1.52 cm for headings of level 2 and above in this document.). In Writer, if you create a heading with style "Heading 5", you will see that you also end up not having any spacing between the numbers and text (because the numbering ends up taking 1.52 cm or more).

Maybe the title of this report should be "XHTML export does not save width of numbering"?

Note that the same document saved as HTML doesn't keep that width of numbering either.

This may be another instance of the second issue raised in bug 95662.

Dear Michael Warner,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword
