The file has 2 tables: the 1st created with 6.4.1. has the 2nd and 4th row without vertical borders, and the 2nd added with 7.1.3: the same commands resulted in all borders deleted (8.77 KB, application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text)

Description Andy 2021-05-22 13:28:46 UTC
Description:
The table borders in Writer tables have always been (and rightly so) locally configurable, i.e. you could set some cells (those selected before invoking the table properties dialog window) to show borders while other did not have visible borders in the same table. Now this a seems impossible: you select some cells, go to table properties and change something for their borders, but the change is then applied to the whole table. This is of course very unfortunate, you are unable to format complex event simple tables in the way you desire

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a new writer document, insert an empty table of some 6 rows and 5 columns
2. By default the table has borders on all edges.
3. Now suppose you want the 3rd rw not to have the vertical borders: you select that row, open the table properties and move to the "borders" tab. There, in the editable preview click on all vertical edges (left, central and right) so that they disappear in the preview
4. When you click ok, your table should reflect the change, and be without vertical borders on the 3rd row, while maintaining borders elsewhere. Instead, all borders in the table are now gone except, inexplicably, for the bottom horizontal border of the whole table, the only one that remained.

Actual Results:
Hiding borders for specific selected cells results in hidden borders for the WHOLE table, except for the bottom margin

Expected Results:
As I have checked in 6.4.1, border settings applied to selected cells in a table should apply to that cells only!

Reproducible: Always

So let's close this one as WORKSFORME. Please reopen it if you'll see the problem again in 7.1.4 release
