Created attachment 172662 [details] Screenshot For those like me who dislike to open documents: Merging 1 and 4 ends up in one big cell with 1,4,2,3.
I fully agree with the request. If merging of cells is not possible for the current selection we should block the function rather than automatically extending the selection.
