Description JIM7 2021-06-06 06:03:39 UTC
Description:
When I click on my L/O document, to return to it from a different window, if I hit a blank spot, the entire paragraph moves to "Align Right."
This did NOT happen, until that *Vertical Bar with the BLACK triangle* was put into LibreOffice Writer.
The *Vertical Bar with the BLACK triangle* follows my cursor and is very distracting.
I HATE IT.
Can you please tell me how I can get rid of it?
Thank you.

Steps to Reproduce:
(A)
1.Open 2 documents with normal amounts of text filling them.
2.Switch from one to the other, using a blank space at the end of a paragraph.
3.Watch the whole paragraph change to "Align Right."
>
(B)
1.Move cursor around in the document, to any blank space.
2.Watch the *Vertical Bar with the BLACK triangle* follow everywhere there is a blank spot.

Actual Results:
(A) The whole paragraph changed to "Align Right."
(B) Get annoyed as the *Vertical Bar with the BLACK triangle* follows everywhere there's a blank spot!

Expected Results:
Please tell me how to GET RID of the *Vertical Bar with the BLACK triangle*!!!!!!

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

1. Open Writer
2. [Tools]->[Options] from the main menu
3. [LibreOffice Writer]->[Formatting Aids] in the left tree
4. on the right side, you will see two columns. see the section named "Direct Cursor" in the second column.
5. uncheck "Direct cursor" checkbox
6. Click ok to close the dialog.
