Description mail2.0 2021-06-10 13:32:39 UTC
Description:
Heading paragraph indent disappears after updating its paragraph style from selection.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a new text document
2. insert some text, e.g. "abc"
3. apply "Heading 1" style to the text (e.g. select from the formatting toolbar)
4. increase the left paragraph indent (e.g. from the ruler, drag the bottom left triangle to the right)
5. click "Update Selected Style" (Ctrl+Shift+F11, or e.g. from the formatting toolbar)

Actual Results:
The indent selected in step 4. disappears (i.e. is reset to default zero, which is also reflected by the position of the left triangles on the ruler)

Expected Results:
The indent selected in step 4. should remain in effect

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Applies to:
* Affects all heading styles "Heading 1" to "Heading 10"
* Only affects selected paragraphs; all other paragraphs in the same Heading style are updated and rendered correctly with the indent selected in step 4
* Once the render deficiency is in effect, it persists even after applying other paragraph styles

Remedies:
* save and close, then reopen the document, OR
* "Toggle Bullet List" (Shift+F12) twice on the affected paragraph

I confirm it with

Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 949658028e722e5d2657b503eb20e16e41dbd8cf
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

and also with

Version: 5.4.7.2 (x64)

CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 6.19; UI-Render: GL;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

Steps to make problem more visible
1. create a new text document
2. Add at least two paragraphs with some text, e.g. "abc"
3. apply "Heading 1" style to all paragraphs
4. increase the left paragraph indent of all paragraphs (e.g. from the ruler, drag the bottom left triangle to the right)
5. Select one paragraph and click "Update Selected Style" (Ctrl+Shift+F11, or e.g. from the formatting toolbar or the sidebar)

Actual result:
Indent setting in paragraph style changes (expected), indent of selected paragraph is removed (not expected), indent of the other paragraphs remain (expected)

Additional informations:
Haven't tested with other styles or with other style settings

page of dissertation with problem headings

Headings automatically indent although stye has been checked to ensure no indents.
Eraser can remove the indent, but "Save" cannot retain the removal of the indent. (I.e I save the file and it goes back to indented.)
Very frustrating on a long document. To make the pdf, I had to go through the whole dissertation and remove each indents separately with eraser, then save as pdf.
