Description phil bailey 2021-06-12 12:32:43 UTC
Description:
Every time that I update the font for an entire spreadsheet, I find individual cells have kept their original font and I have to manually update. This includes font size. This is a major error which I have not seen in Apache Open Office, Apple Numbers or Microsoft Excel.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Enter numeric and text data into cells
2.Choose font Avenir Next and apply to all cells
3.Save Spreadsheet
4.Re-Open Spreadsheet

Actual Results:
Random cells have original font - calibri or times new roman.

Expected Results:
The cells should have changed to Avenir next. Manual change had to be done - for over 100 cells

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Updated and confirmed cell fonts.

Sounds like you are applying Direct Formatting...

Have you tried clearing Direct Formatting and then applying the font change via a Style? Or idealy, defining a new style from the 'Cell' default (Sidebar -> Styles -> Default and the 'Modify' context menu). Clear the Direct Formatting, then select and apply the modified new Style.

Multiple modified Styles can be applied where needed on the sheets.

I would expect that to be solved without the need to choose a style as the spreadsheet is not a formal template. After all the style should not be randomly holding on to different fonts.

Will see how it performs in the next update before I use it for customer reporting documentation.

It is not, the default style uses 'Liberation Sans'--any other font is coming in from DF. Clear the DF and apply a style (modified from Default as needed)--and then if still needed reapply any DF--or alternatively an alternate cell style of your choice.

umm, sure...
