Description Telesto 2021-06-14 09:04:10 UTC
Description:
Lots of font hinting of Arial font

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file with master and LibO 5.2.5 or older (or Word)
2. Compare font rendering

Actual Results:
The difference between 'bold' caption and the text kind of goes away. Hinting quite a lot

Expected Results:
This partly about taste, partly about comparison rendering, and probably also has to do with font rendering on different systems (and LoDPI/ HiDPI)

But well I prefer the 'old' rendering

Reproducible: Always

I can't confirm this with

Version: 7.1.4.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19043; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

I compared with Word 2016

I also noticed, that font of the second paragraph is "Liberation Serif" (in Word) and "Liberation Serif;Times New Roman" (in LO)

I don't understand this even after watching the screencast. Can you explain it, so a child could get it? Also, do you have anything to say about Dieter's comment?
