Description Mike Williams 2021-06-16 18:16:10 UTC
Description:
Brother Printer MFC-L2710DW
Unable to print an envelope, does not format the output to fit the envelope.
Verified that Microsoft Word 2007 prints the envelope correctly.

version 7.1.2.2 LibreOffice Writer
version 7.1.4.2 LibreOffice Writer

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create an envelope, #10, use return address and delivery address
2.Print preview looks OK
3.Print envelope

Actual Results:
Printing on 8.5 x 11 paper , places the text at the top of the page
Printing an envelope orients the text correctly, but the delivery address is at the top of the envelope.

Expected Results:
Normal page printing works correctly.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Used to work before version 7.1.2.2, though I did not use the envelope printing for a while.

Hardly anyone will have Brother and be willing to test.
But this is likely a more general problem, see and test solution in Bug 142247
and bug Bug 141017 and bug 134646 -
Please search before reporting.

As was commented, others will probably not have a Brother printer.

In my case, I only have the Brother printer and can therefore not check it on another printer.

I did export the created envelope to a PDF, and then opened the PDF in a PDF reader (Ashampoo PDF Pro), and printed it to 8.5 x 11 paper, and it printed in landscape mode in the middle of the sheet, as does Microsoft Office Word. The PDF reader also printed the envelope on the Brother MFC-L2710DW correctly.

(LibreOffice 7.1.4.2 printed the envelope at the top of an 8.5 x 11 paper, in landscape mode, at the TOP of the paper.)

I can work around this issue by using Word or a PDF reader, or I can remove Libre Office v7.1.4.2 and return to an earlier version.

The only reason for reporting the issue is because there is a feedback reporting method. I did not intend to irritate anyone.

Please, not irritating, just trying to pinpoint the issue.
Please add sample document and confirm if you tried with solution from Bug 142247.

Directions on LibreOffice for printing an Envelope #10 do not work- printer setup, envelope selection, addressee, sender information inputted, device info, etc. but will not print- loads envelope but will not proceed to print-
HP2600 Deskjet series.
