In the original DOCX file there is an image in the center of the page that was supposed to be in the background and have some transparency. However, for some reason these properties got lost. This is actually an OLE object (Word says Word97 document, that apparently contains an image... simplest!), setting meta bug. With a real image the wrapping and transparency properties would have been imported better.
