Description: When I add short .gif files that have transparency in them into Libreoffice Impress, I get a weird colors flashing instead of the transparency while presenting it. This is evident especially if you insert a colored object as a background. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Impress 2.Add any .gif file that has transparency in it. Or you can use the .gif file given below as reference Ref: https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-W_rVro2zZVc/WE_F0GDsdBI/AAAAAAAFL3s/czRrGFxkYeAFIMBKxascOlBmcfcKK4GAQCLcB/s1600/AW292972_08.gif 3. Start the presentation Actual Results: The transparent parts are replaced by flashing colors (most often white or black) Expected Results: The transparency shouldn't have gone. It should have retained the transparency. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: Version: 7.1.4.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: a529a4fab45b75fefc5b6226684193eb000654f6 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.19; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-GB Flatpak Calc: threaded P.S. I know this is a flatpak version. But I faced this issue while I was using the version from the repos as well.
Created attachment 173358 [details] Here's the screenshot of this issue.
Created attachment 173359 [details] And here's the screenshot of the same .gif file presented in WPS office. I've added a colored object behind it show it clearly.

(In reply to Telesto from comment #3) > Created attachment 173367 [details] > GIF Hi, So, the thing I was talking about is how when we add a gif with transparency, and then present the slideshow, there are flashing colors that appear in place of the transparent part. (In relation to the gif I posted earlier, we can see clearly how there is a black color that actually flashes during presentation (it doesn't appear during edit)). In the second screenshot, I've attached how it ought to appear (I used WPS office for the second screenshot). Could you try to take a screenshot of the gif while presenting the slide?
It's fine for me on Windows Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c38d0d501f5eca648bdf0fd2914b57e06f505f7e CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); UI: en-US Calc: CL
Also fine with Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha1+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9ac3b599e65669380ab346cb2bb135a6edc3273a CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.11; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded

So I downloaded the AppImage of the 7.2.0 version and I noticed I wasn't facing the problem of gif files there. So, whatever it had been has been taken into notice and implemented in the 7.2.0 alpha version. This bug had been bothering me a lot throughout various versions of libreoffice. I despised using MS office. I've always wanted to shift completely to libreoffice and had no problems (so far) with regard to writer and calc. It was impress that was a hurdle. A major part of that being the the gif problem. I can see that it has been fixed in 7.2.0 alpha build. So, I think I'll install the 7.2.0 version as of now. :) :)
Okay. So, this matter has not been resolved. The development version crashes sometimes and I need something stable. Can someone tell me if this is a LO (version < 7.2) problem or is it something else that I can fix here? If it is a LO problem, please provide a patch for the stable version or something.
Any update with LO 7.2.5 or brand new LO 7.3.1 ?

Thank you for your feedback. Since there's no specific fix here, let's rather put WFM.
