Description: Aesthetics. Tip of the day above the select a template popup Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Impress (assuming this is first thing you launch after reboot) 2. Get a tip of the day above the 'select a template popup' Actual Results: Two dialogs Expected Results: Well if find the popups throwing at you bit overdone.. Solution A Show one by one. So first the tip of the day, next 'select a template popup' Solution B Maybe simply stop throwing the 'select a template popup'. I personally find it really annoying dialog. Yes, there is don't show this again close by. However for testing purposes leaving it as is.. And it's the default! So would even swap.. Hide, except explicitly wanted Selecting a template (or replacing) can be easily done with sidebar (or maybe button in the toolbar). The template selector is pretty on launch intrusive.. I'm mostly start with the content.. the design is something I fiddle later with.. So question comes to soon anyhow.. LibreOffice 8.0 would good opportunity to make change here Solution C It's as good as it gets.. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Version: 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 2a151d1d5bc055d5e0011460b6ec42ea9f34f880 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.3 Build 9600; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); UI: en-US Calc: CL
TotD is amodal now meaning you can keep it visible while interacting with the application. So while I agree with the aesthetics issue I don't see a solution.

(Yes you can disable it). But addressing this from say the sidebar seems more natural to me
