Description christian 2021-08-08 16:40:53 UTC
Description:
Not starting any more. No GUI.
Did an apt-get update before and Ubuntu crashed before.
Console: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
Google about this is from 2010-2018
repair or reinstall apt with update upgrade purge does not help. uninstall quite difficult with ubuntu
strace libreoffice -h stopped after somewhere /etc/libreoffice/registry/res
Newest file there was registry_de.xcd probably corrupt, editor suggests UTF-8
/etc/libreoffice/registry/res$ sudo mv registry_de.xcd registry_de.xcd-backup solved it

Please could you try to reset your user profile. It's the first thing to try when LibreOffice refuses to start.

Status has been set to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested information has been provided.

Best regards. JBF

$ libreoffice --safe-mode does not start same fatal exception: signal 6
rename .config/libreoffice/4/user does not work, (there is new /user folder)
problem is in /etc/libreoffice/registry.. not in user profile

$ libreoffice --safe-mode
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'

Christian, do you still have the problem? What LibreOffice version do you use now?
Comment 11 Roman Kuznetsov 2023-05-09 20:00:16 UTC
Cristian sent me letter with:

Hi Roman, no problem any more, solved by deleting this attached registry_de.xcd
Bug was difficult to solve as --save-mode and purge did not work.
There is something bad in this registry_de.xcd preventing the program to start. Deserializer? Thank you for your work.

So, let's close this one as WFM now.

Cristian, if you will see the same problem again, please reopen this report. Thank you
