Description Mark 2021-08-19 12:53:07 UTC
Description:
I use templates extensively in my work and overall, have been very pleased with LibreOffice. It has recently come to my attention that e-mail file attachments, created in LibreOffice, have been missing the last line when sent to a recipient. The line is clearly visible both in the template and on the file created from that template on my machine but the recipient's copy does not contain that line. I'm using version 7.1.5.2 on Ubuntu and my email is sent via G-mail. I found a work around wherein if I add a blank line at the end of the template, the last line of text shows in the file as it should however, the problem still exists in that the newly inserted blank line is not there.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create a file being sure that there is some line of text on the very last line.
2.Send the file via an e-mail attachment
3.Check the received file to verify whether or not the last line is contained in the file.

Actual Results:
The last line is missing in the received file.

Expected Results:
The file should be transferred in its entirety.

Reproducible: Always

I don't understand how should e-mail transfer delete something inside the document. Are you sure it's not problem on recipient side? For example some incompatible office suite. You can check it in your outbox folder when you open the attachment - do you see the last line? Can you attach some test file?

It's important to know which format you save in, so as required you need to attach a file without personal info (you may replace all chars with x).
Comment 3 Timur 2022-04-28 09:36:44 UTC
This is rather a problem of which format is used and which program to open it.
Since there's no response nor a sample, this can only be closed.
