Does it crash with any video or a specific one?
If just specific one, would it be possible you attach it?

terminal output of Impress crashing

This is the terminal output when launching impress via the command line and then inserting a video file.
Comment 3 Mikee 2021-08-20 14:52:37 UTC
Impress is crashing no matter which video file or format (tested with mp4 und mpg) is used.
In addition all LibreOffice applications are crashing when inserting a video.

I am using the .deb Version of LibreOffice

Thank you for your feedback.
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I can't reproduce this.
So I can't help here=>uncc myself.

Can you try download and install LibreOffice from an official site https://libreoffice.org/download and the try repeat your problem in that version?
Comment 6 Mikee 2021-08-29 14:21:16 UTC
I installed the same version of LibreOffice from the official site like you suggested. But the same error occurs and Impress just crashes when inserting a video.

I was offered to create a crash report this time: https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/81c142e9-b0a0-4cfe-8bc5-cf5882c6ec8f

I hope it contains at least some useful information.

Since nobody reproduced, you need to find a cause yourself.

If User Profile Reset: Yes means you did reset or delete user profile, you may try to install via PPA.
Comment 10 Mikee 2022-01-05 23:25:34 UTC
I updated my Pop!_OS-Verion to 21.10. I reinstalled LiberOffice Impress, but the error still persists: It crashes, when I insert a video.

I now use the Flatpak-Version of the LibreOffice-App, which work flawlessly.

This was confirmed by bug 146096 and it seems Pop!_OS only.
So I guess it's close as NotOurBug.
I'm not familiar with Pop!_OS, but I guess it has bug reports, you should report there, please confirm and write a link.
Comment 14 Kara 2022-03-09 22:47:38 UTC
Just clicking on a slide in the slide pane that has a video on it crashes Office unrecoverable, video format, length are of no consequence. Using any video at all is outright impossible.

Note: there was a short time in the previous year when videos worked as expected; the fix may since have been overwritten.

Kara, do you also use Pop!_OS?
Did anyone report at Pop forum?
