Description Vincent 2021-08-21 22:38:28 UTC
Hello,

I tried to upgrade, but the 7.2.0.4 installer fails using all default settings:

1. LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi downloaded through BitTorrent:

Error 1335, libreoffice1.cab corrupt

2. Through direct link on a mirror:

"Windows Installer - This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."

Both files have the same length (320,458,752 bytes), so it's odd that I'm not getting the same error.

Had no problem installing 7.1.5.2 afterwards.

Cheers,

I hope you downloaded LibreOffice from an official site?

Let's check SHA256 checksum for LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi (I used 7zip for SHA256 creating)

I have SHA256: E3D5FF07A7E2AA0A8775C1CA303618D645ECCE1496A1C179C232E38CAA691CAE

And I didn't have any problem with installing process

If you have SHA256 the same, then please read this article:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Faq/General/General_Installation_Issues_(Windows)

After all give us a feedback please

Yes: The torrent file from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/, and the direct file from one the mirrors listed here:

https://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/7.2.0/win/x86/LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi.mirrorlist

I read the "General Installation Issues (Windows)" article, re-downloaded LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi with qBitTorrent again, and checked the SHA256 hash, which matches what it says in the Info link on the LO site.

Filename: LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi
Path: /libreoffice/stable/7.2.0/win/x86/LibreOffice_7.2.0_Win_x86.msi
Size: 306M (320458752 bytes)
Last modified: Tue, 17 Aug 2021 18:34:48 GMT (Unix time: 1629225288)
SHA-256 Hash: e3d5ff07a7e2aa0a8775c1ca303618d645ecce1496a1c179c232e38caa691cae

Quickhash-GUI:
E3D5FF07A7E2AA0A8775C1CA303618D645ECCE1496A1C179C232E38CAA691CAE

I re-ran the installer, and… it proceeded OK.

So I have no idea what went wrong, but lesson learned: 1) Check the hash, and 2) try again if it failed installing.

Thank you.
