Please clarify what icons do you mean?
Do you have a HiDPI display?
Please write here info from your LibreOffice's About dialog

@mitox: Which icon set are you using? Have you tried other icon sets? Are those also affected? Are you using the SVG version or non SVG version?

Which mac are you using from which year and what is your exact macOS version?
Comment 5 mitox 2021-09-09 10:18:29 UTC
I tried all the iconsets,

Iconsets with a "(SVG)" tag are more blurred than those without the tag.

Adding a comparison screenshot of MacBook Pro late 2017, macOS 11.5.2, LO 7.2.0.4 icons looking fine.
And adding reporters screenshot to attachments for better accessibility as this bug already is getting hard to read otherwise.

Please reset your user profile: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Resolving_corruption and see if the problem then persists.

Hi steve,

I asked 4 colleagues if the icons were blurred. They all agreed LibreOffice has problems displaying the icons right and clear.

I tried

I think the easiest way to solve the problem is to use @2x image instead. It is not a bit complicated. I just don't understand why you just pretend to overlook the UI failure.

icons in attachment "ok steve MacBookPro late 2017 macOS 11.5.2" are blurred. for example, The 'Bold' icon 'B', The 'Italic' icon 'I', so on, the problem is sooooooooo obvious and easy to tell.

I apologize if you just reject to admit what you see and I wasn't aware of that. Though the UI failure drives me mad, I do know it's impossible to awaken a person who is pretending sleeping.

This is the last comment I will make about the issue. If you still persist, just close the damn issue, please.

Yes, all bitmaps on retina displays are blurred. Reason is that hidpi bitmaps are not implemented for know. Only text and vector graphics are implemented. Bitmaps are upscaled as a workaround causing this blur.

I am working on this issue, but due to limited time this will take longer. Bitmap code is not designed for double resolution currently.
