Description: I just updated a previously created text document and wanted to save it with a new name, preserving the original version. I found that trying to use either "Save As…" or "Save a Copy…" produced a spinnig "pizza wheel" for five seconds and then just displayed my modified docuemnt without any save whatsoever. Configuration: Mac OS 10.15.7 with a Mac Mini (late-2012). I ended up performing a plain "Save" and then renamed the saved document. Of course, I've now lost my previous version. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Modify an exiting text document 2.Select File/Save As…/Return 3.Observe a colored Spinning wheel which then quits without a Save As or Save Actual Results: Displays original document and no new document is saved. Expected Results: Should create a new document with a new chosen name. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: [Information automatically included from LibreOffice] Locale: en-US Module: TextDocument [Information guessed from browser] OS: Mac OS X (All) OS is 64bit: no
Did you provide Full Disk Access to Libreoffice.app? See also: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/unable-to-save-or-save-as-any-document-even-in-safe-mode/53456
I double-checked and the Libreoffice.app is included in Full Disk Access.
(In reply to Ken W. from comment #2) > I double-checked and the Libreoffice.app is included in Full Disk Access. Did you re-grant as described in the link provided? Allow me to report from my own experience: Once checked myself several times and found Libreoffice.app and it did not work at all. The only procedure which fixed the issue was: - Remove the existing privilege(completely) - Add the Full Disk Access again. In other words: It was not sufficient to check the privilege being granted but it was required redo the granting action.
SUCCESS! I'm embarassed to admit that I did not read all the way to the bottom. Once I unchecked "Full Disk Access", quit LibreOffice, opened LibreOffice again and once again selected (re-granted) Full Disk Access, the "Save" functions worked as they should. Thank you for suggesting I read the full message.
