Description hollnagel.erik 2021-09-07 17:40:51 UTC
Description:
When trying to insert an image (jpg 12.7 kb) in Impress, I get the message "Image filter not found".
The image was in the file before I was upgraded to 7.2. Many of the images I use have mysteriously disappeared, and it seems that I cannot even insert them again.
I can insert the image with copy+paste, but when I try to compress it the image size is shown as 0 kb.
Never had these problems before.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Insert
2.Image
3.Select jpg image

Actual Results:
Error message "Image filter not found"

Expected Results:
That the image would be inserted

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Inserted the image

Are you using a snap version of LibreOffice?
Comment 2 NISZ LibreOffice Team 2021-09-09 07:46:10 UTC
Sounds like a WebP format image, i.e. bug 114532

Could you attach a sample file, or run file *jpg on in (in a unix-like command line, if that is available for you)?
Comment 3 hollnagel.erik 2021-09-10 07:38:11 UTC
Actually, it is not. Even trying to insert small jpg file in a document gives the same error message.
I have given up and reinstalled LibreOffice 7.1.5, so I cannot reproduce the error any longer.

Similar error was confirmed on Snap, you didn't say which LO you use, but you mention install, so it shouldn't be snap.
Please clarify how you upgraded and copy info from LO-Help-About.

You may stay at 7.1.5 but when you upgrade to 7.2 if this repeats you should do as indicated in bug form: User Profile Reset.
You may delete or temporary rename user profile directory.
Thinks happen, see bug 143823.

Until then, since others do not reproduce, I sett Needinfo.

In order not to be bothered by this I have switched to an earlier version of LibreOffice 7.1.5.2. So I cannot say if the problem still exists in 7.2

Please attach jpg file for testing. Thank you.
