Description fl 2021-09-13 13:20:56 UTC
Description:
Hi,
I use msiexec to silent deploy LibreOffice on many computers.
I noticed that if i use the parameter ADDLOCAL=ALL for example in the menu Format/Paragraph unit is CA instead of CM.
If i delete ADDLOCAL=ALL , unit is well CM.
Is it normal ?

See my command line i used :
1- Ok unit is in CM:
msiexec /q /i LibreOffice_7.0.5_Win_x64.msi
2- Bad result unit in CA:
msiexec /q /i LibreOffice_7.0.5_Win_x64.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Deploy with msiexec: msiexec /q /i LibreOffice_7.0.5_Win_x64.msi ADDLOCAL=ALL
2.
3.

Actual Results:
If use ADDLOCAL=ALL in menu format / paragraph unit are in CA instead of CM
Same with 7.1.* version

Expected Results:
Unit in CM

Reproducible: Always

I *suspect* that CM means "centimeters"; but what is CA? "Characters" looks plausible, given that installing ALL means that you install support for east-asian languages, which automatically enables Options->Writer->General->Enable Char Unit (the same e.g. happens in parallel installations [1], which also install all components). If my guess is correct, I don't think it's a bug; it works as designed. However, I myself always wondered why it gets auto-enabled not because of active locale, or at the very least used UI language, but because of installed component set.

Maybe someone knows the reason?

Thanks for the explanation.
I just don't understand because if i don't set ADDLOCAL=ALL it works.
But i was thinking when not set ADDLOCAL the default options is ALL, right ?

Just FYI --

As a Chinese user who has no experience with this ADDLOCAL parameter of msiexec, I'd like to add that while it's true "character" is added as unit when East Asian language (CJK) support is installed, it has always been displayed as "ch" in the UI for me, and I've never seen "CA" used for this.

I've attached a screenshot of the paragraph formatting dialog (menu Format > Paragraph...) under zh-CN locale, en-US UI.
