Description lostbits 2021-09-22 04:50:38 UTC
Description:

The files loaded are all .csv files with colon, ':', delimiters with ASCII data and without embedded quotes or ':'.

[1] LO spreadsheet program (.ods) does not detect when a loaded file has changed. LOG text program (.odt) does.
[2] If a spreadheet file is loaded, reloading it in a command shell does not work.
[2] In order to reload a changed spreadsheet file, the file must be terminated in LO and then a command shell reload will bring in updated data.

Can this be changed so that changed files cause a prompt for a reload?

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Load a .csv file.
2.Change the file externally (outside of LO)
3.

Actual Results:
File change not recognized.

Expected Results:
File change recognized and the user prompted to accept the changes.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Instead of load the file directly, open it on a sheet with a link to it.

Menu/Sheet/Insert sheet from file, marking the link option.
Menu/Sheet/Link to external data, where you can set up an interval time to update the data.

I don't think you can update in the OS a file already open. So if the file is already open as such by LibreOffice, no change can be detected because it is not changed. Maybe you think it has changed, but I think no way.

I don't find out there is a bug.
