A non-sudo user must login with the sudo password when launching LibreOffice 7.2.
Popup text is: authentication required to run gvfsd-admin daemon. Also, the cancel button in the popup does nothing.

Steps to Reproduce:

2.launch LibreOffice (any component calc, base, writer etc)
3.popup appears immediately

authentication required to run gvfsd-admin daemon
Password box is in the popup and the password must be entered for the sudo user

Expected Results:
LibreOffice displays the component launched without the authentication popup

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Note: the version installed is 7.2.1 downloaded from the website, it does not indicate that it is a release candidate version.
OS: Ubuntu 20.04 with all current updates installed
Does not happen when logged with the uid that has sudo privileges.

Linux LO packages from TDF website are more for repository distrib maintainers.
Indeed, they deal with required dependencies.

You may uninstall the deb packages and use LO ppa (see https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa) to give 7.2.1 a try.

Not sure what you mean by downloading from the TDF website.
I downloaded from the official LO website www.libreoffice.org which announced that v7.2.1 is now available.
This is where I always download from and do a clean install of the new version after removing the old version.
I have not seen the authentication issue with any of the previous releases which is why I submitted the bug report stating that the version did not indicate that it was a release candidate.

www.libreoffice.org is TDF indeed.

I don't reproduce this on pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today or with LO Debian package 7.2.1.2 so perhaps it's specific to Ubuntu ?
That's why it could be interesting to uninstall your current version and give a try to LO ppa.

Following my previous comment, could you give a try with a recent LO version from ppa ? (see https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa)

The issue was resolved when v7.3 was installed
