Description: Not sure if this feature has been requested or not since when I search "reset user profile" in bugzilla all bugs would be shown... In some situations, for example, when I upgraded my LibreOffice from 7.1 to 7.2, some strange behaviors happened. After resetting the user profile all the behaviors were normal. Sometimes when users asked for help with similar situations, we would suggest them to try resetting user profiles first. We have a wiki page to tell users how to reset user profile https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile However for some (actually most) users they are not able to (don't want to?) do it manually. Is it possible to add a button in, for example, Tools - Options - Advanced, to let users directly reset (of course with confirmation and a backup) user profile and relaunch LibreOffice? This way we don't need to teach users how to find the user profile paths (unless they want to recover their user profiles, but IMO such recovery is very rarely performed). Actual Results: N/A Expected Results: N/A Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: N/A
IMO it is a UX issue.
There is a Safe mode dialog after Help > Restart in Safe mode. You can use it for an user profile resetting I don't think we need a different button/menu item for it. So -1 from me, but I'll CC LO-UX-Team
Okay, never noticed about the safe mode. Looks good and sufficient though I didn't test if it would backup or not. Closing it.
