Description David Yerger 2021-10-23 18:54:55 UTC
Seems to be triggered by power events - usually sleep/resume, today just by disconnecting AC adapter on my laptop.

Application windows freeze, colors go pale, mouse pointer changes to hourglass/throbber/Whirligig of Waiting, (Not Responding) on toolbar.

Only activity is <database>.odb.lck being written to according to Process Monitor looking at soffice process, offsets 8-15 inclusive, then repeating.

I don't know much about power management (only use desktop PCs). But one question:

Which database do you use with your database.odb-file? Internal HSQLDB, internal Firebird or a connection to an external database?
Comment 2 David Yerger 2021-10-24 20:40:04 UTC
Thank you for your attention -

The database format is HSQLDB Embedded.

Just updated to version 7.1.6.2, when I get a chance I'll create a scratch database and see if I can reproduce the problem. I'll let you know what I find.

You can try 7.1.8 or brand new 7.2.4

Similar problem-Libre Base stops responding--I created a new db and it still crashes. The problem occurs eventally, not always on the first operation.

So I will set this bug to new. Could confirm I had seen this also on Laptops when it went to power-safe mode.
