Description gianluca.dequecker 2021-10-24 08:31:12 UTC
Hello,

In the Debian (11) distribution, with the Xfce desktop environment, scroll down of LibreOffice Writer (7) documents containing images is very slow. The issue was resolved after uninstalling the libreoffice-gtk3 package.

Do you have a better solution for me?
Yours.

Do you also see the problem in a daily build or 7.2? https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel/Linux#Automated_installation

This was reported earlier, but is now gone: bug 139385
Comment 2 gianluca.dequecker 2021-10-24 16:36:04 UTC
It is libreoffice-gtk3 installed with LibreOffice (7.0.4), proposed and updated by default with Debian 11 (stable branch), which poses a problem.

Yes, I understand, but I would like you to test with 7.2 as I confirmed the problem to be gone in it.

Thank you for your reply.

In our study office, we only use the stable version of Debian. Can you please tell me when you plan to integrate the LibreOffice 7.2 version into Debian Bullsyey stable branch?

Sorry, we are not in control of Debian's packaging. I don't think it will appear in Bullseye stable, you would have to use bullseye-backports. But anyway, you can test with the appimage method described in the wiki just to check that the problem is gone and let us know.
