Test Kit

After some discussion on IRC I was able to narrow down core of a strange Problem with my
LibO 7.2.1.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build 87b77fad49947c1441b67c559c339af8f3517e22, CPU threads: 12;
OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US, Calc: CL

STR:
0. unzip attached test kit
1. Launch LibO 7.2
2. From LibO Files Dialog open sample102.odt from test kit
   » LibO opens document,
LibO will ask "Would you like to ...update all links?"
3. [Yes]
» "Document in Use" Message for linked 'lu153164nwu5e.tmp' (or similar) 😥
4. [Cancel] as often as necessary until document has opened.
   » document looks fine

Additional info:
================
a) Saving opened document will not heal the problem, game starts again when
   you will open document again
b) problem depends on that particular DRAW OLE object.
b1) Until now I was unable to find out what in the DRAWing causes the problem
b2) Test drawing is a saved new version of the DRAWing
c) I created sample102.odt by simply Inserting the drawing with 'Insert →
OLE object → from file → [x] link object → [ok]
d) no problem with
server installation of LibO 6.4.7.2 (x64),
Build 639b8ac485750d5696d7590a72ef1b496725cfb5, CPU threads: 12; OS:
  Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: GL; VCL: win; Locale: de-DE (de_DE);
  UI-Language: en-US, Calc: CL
e) Problem is not related to my User Profile. All the same with a newly
   created User Profile

Simple Test Object

f) The problem is not related to test DRAWing fro moriginal test kit.
Same problem with newly created test DRAWing fromthis attachment inserted
into newly created writer document with LibO 7.2. from original report.
Comment 3 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2021-10-26 16:42:12 UTC
So regression compared to LibO 6

Because it's a general problem with all (my) DRAW objects I rise importance.
Comment 4 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2021-10-26 16:44:43 UTC
f) not limited to WRITER, same problem with CALC
Comment 5 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2021-10-26 17:16:49 UTC
g) Not limited to DRAW objects, it seems to be a general "linked ODF object
   in ODF documen".

Hi Rainer,
I don't understand step 4. Once I open the the ODT document and click on 'YES' to update the links, what should I do ?

(In reply to Xisco Faulí from comment #6)
The interesting part is step 3.
Can you reproduce the '"Document in Use" ...' message?
Comment 9 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-04-27 05:11:57 UTC
Still REPRODUCIBLE with test kitand Installation of Version: 7.3.0.3 (x64)
Build ID a69ca51ded25f3eefd52d7bf9a5fad8c90b87951
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win | Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE | Calc: threaded | ElementaryTheme | My normal User Profile

NOT / no longer reproducible with testkit and Server Installation of Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID b000d964fcc8849d10576bf3539bde7729db2eb1
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US | Calc: CL | Auto Colibre Theme | Special devUserProfile

I will do some additional tests whether generally solved with 7.4. or only for this particular test kit.

I believe this is DUP of bug 147589
Comment 11 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2022-05-13 13:42:25 UTC
I did some quick tests with Server Installation of Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID b000d964fcc8849d10576bf3539bde7729db2eb1
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-US | Calc: CL | Auto Colibre Theme | Special devUserProfile

I did not observe the problem with documents causing the problem in older versions. So I Indeed think that Bug 147589 is a DUP of this one.
