Created attachment 176018 [details] Contents in LO Help Open attached screenshot of Online Help for LO 7.3 Creating Text documents has two subpoints: - Navigating and Selecting With the Keyboard - Using the Direct Cursor I would expect both under "Navigating Text Documents" I couldn't find subpoint for "Creating Text". I would expect informations about templates here (filed this report after working on bug 145114)
The two subpoints under the 'Creating Text Documents'section are related to the formatting and/or entering of text into the document. While the 'Navigating Text Documents' section is focused on searching/finding pieces of text, moving/copying already entered lines of text, and using the Navigator. I think this is an important distinction to make (creating lines vs. navigating a document) and combining the two wouldn't make sense.
(In reply to Akshit from comment #1) > The two subpoints under the 'Creating Text Documents'section are related to > the formatting and/or entering of text into the document. But why is it part of "Creating Documents"? (If creating is used in a very broad sense, alomost eveything could be part of creating a document) > While the 'Navigating Text Documents' section is focused on > searching/finding pieces of text, moving/copying already entered lines of > text, and using the Navigator. I agree, but "Navigating and Selecting with the Keyboard" is one aspect of "Navigating Text Documents" (at least for me) > I think this is an important distinction to make (creating lines vs. > navigating a document) and combining the two wouldn't make sense. I also agree, but Navigating and Selecting with the Navigator" and "Using the Direct Cursor" is not about creating new lines. So I don't understand this part of your comment.
Created attachment 176346 [details] Proposed changes I agree that the current tree structure is weird. I attached an ODG file with the proposed changes. Basically: 1) Move the 2 items under "Creating Text Documents" to "Navigating Text Documents" 2) Remove the entry "Creating Text Documents" since it'll become empty 3) Promote the entry "Templates and Styles" (currently under "Formatting Text Documents") as a main entry below "Text Documents (Writer)" Let me know your thoughts. Then I'll proceed with a fix.
(In reply to Rafael Lima from comment #3) > Created attachment 176346 [details] > Proposed changes Looks reasonable to me. > 2) Remove the entry "Creating Text Documents" since it'll become empty I would expect - for example - some informations about how to create a new text document with an existing template. But LibreOffice help doesn't provide such a basic information; see [1] and related topics on that page. So I agree to remove that entry. Rafael Lima committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": https://git.libreoffice.org/help/commit/0e031e14e258d11234dfef5e97245829fad9af49 tdf#145398 Adjustments to the Writer tree
Looks good in LO 7.3 help! => VERIFIED Rafael, thanks for fixing it!
