Created attachment 176410 [details] tables When double click in table above, libreoffice crash Behavior to reproduce: @ Put mouse pointer a little above the table header, until it is formed an arrow pointer. @ Then Double click. Libreoffice extits almost everytime in my machine. Why is this very annoying? @ Cause I copy a lot of table headers, and I had many libre writer crashes without understanding why. It is not intetional behavior to form with mouse an arrow copy. This is accidental. I don't reproduce this indeed with gtk3 or kf5 renderings. You didn't provide backtrace but console logs this time. Here's another way to retrieve a backtrace (also called stacktrace): 1) Open a term/console 2) Launch LO and open your file 3) Open a second term/console on another tab or window 4) On this second term/console, type: gdb --pid=$(pidof soffice.bin) then type: c 5) Go back to the first term/console and reproduce the bug, you'll see that it'll freeze because gdb (the debugger) will stop 6) On the second term/console, prompt should be available (since gdb stopped) type: bt => you can copy paste the bt on a brand new txt file and attach it here.

Ok we got a backtrace now. I'm just realizing you're talking about 7.3.0.0.alpha0+, so I suppose you retrieved the packages from LO website. You must know that these are more for distrib maintainers who make all the packages, eg: they deal with all the dependencies. The pb you encounter may be a side effect of a missing dependency or a slight change in API of a lib. 7.3.0.0.alpha0+ is really a dev version which allows some testing. To work on important files, you should stick to LO provided by your distribution. What's the LO version provided by your distrib and do you reproduce the pb with it?

You must know that 6.4, 7.0 and very soon and very soon for 7.1 branches are EOL (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/7.1 for 7.1) You can try the 7.2.2 if you add LO ppa repo (see https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa), there's a 7.2.2 version for Ubuntu 20.04. Alternatively, you may give a try to Ubuntu 21.10 which must contain a more recent LO version but I suppose you chose 20.04 to have an LTS.

The qt5-part might just be the event loop. Do I correctly understand comment 3 and comment 4 that this crashes for gen as well? I can't reproduce on Debian testing with current git master. Michael: you're right indeed it's not specific to kf5 since Elias reproduced the pb with gen rendering. Elias: do you have any accessibility tool (Zoom, screen reader, specific theme, whatever) or Hidpi screen or something a bit "atypical"? If not, either you can try to build the sources by enabling symbols (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnLinux for some docs) or wait for package 7.3.0 when they'll be available on Ubuntu repo and stick on your current LO version.
