Description Roman Kuznetsov 2021-12-01 13:24:02 UTC
Description:
Change Tab color dialog for sheet color selection to some sub-color palette

Now we have in the Calc's Sheet tab context menu item Tab color that opens the Tab color dialog.

I suggest change it with some sub menu color palette as it's in Excel (look at the comparison in attach)

Steps to Reproduce:
-

Actual Results:
there is the dialog Tab color

Expected Results:
there is a nice sub menu color palette in context menu at once

Reproducible: Always

Excel has no choice for different colors. We list not only the standard palette but all other too inclusive user colors. Not that this freedom is really needed here but a) you have to pick the colors to show, b) don't allow to use other colors, and c) it would deviate from the default color handling. All for just one click less on a feature that is very rarely used. My take: WF.

I wouldn't reduce the possibilities that LibO presents now, but if it's possible to bring the whole dialog in a sub-menu that would be a nice idea. This must be answered by a developer.

The topic was on the agenda of the design meeting. Since Thomas agrees with my comment 2 let's resolve the idea as WF.
