Description robgrune 2021-12-04 02:18:45 UTC
Formatting. Font selection. No fonts are displayed. Blank box.

Problem.

Occurs when user chooses tools...options...view...show preview of fonts.

When clicking Writer menu box to select a font, the box is blank (no text displayed). When using the cursor to scroll through the fonts, a single font will be highlighted, all others will not display.

When user clears tools..options..view..show preview of fonts (clear the check box) .... the font labels will show in the font selection box, but not the font previews...

...Also... the most recent fonts are no longer listed at the top of the font selection.

[aside note: When the font selection box is displayed, LO blocks the function of the PrintScreen key. No screenshot is possible].

To reset your user profile:
It looks like you use some distro of Linux.
I don't know if all Linuxes are the same, but for me, there is the folder
~/.config/libreoffice

Close all running instances of LibreOffice, then rename that folder to
~/.config/libreoffice.old

Now open LibreOffice and a new folder will be created and test it.
If you want your old settings back:
1. Close LibreOffice
2. Delete the new ~/.config/libreoffice folder
3. Rename libreoffice.old to libreoffice

(I think that is how it is done)

1/ No such directory. reminder; this is a snap install.
2/ Why would the problem be the user config? I see the problem as a bug with the app. The user config should be set via the LO menus. Resorting to deletes, etc, should not be required in any case.

No repro with Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ba7db98cca3d8516697c94ef0d6af27db9e1655e
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.11; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: cs-CZ (cs_CZ.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

I see all fonts and their previews.

[aside note: When the font selection box is displayed, LO blocks the function of the PrintScreen key. No screenshot is possible].
I use Shutter tool to screenshot the menu.

LO 7.4 ? Where may I find this? The LO webpage lists 7.2.4 alpha, only. Is the alpha stable? All other sources list 7.2.3 only. Thanks.
