FWIW: same madness with different printers giving different results as bug 145354 I kind of suggested to remove both bug 146047 comment 3 (Paper Size/Orientation) in Print dialog (introduced with 6.3). Being that unreliable and likely never to be working properly. At least that's how I interpret bug 145354

(In reply to raal from comment #5) You likely need to try multiple 'printers' -> Epson 3520 -> Fails -> Canon 4500 -> Fails -> Microsoft XPS printer -> Letter paper size -> PDF creator -> Fine -> Fax -> Fine The arbitrariness is the main flaw
Well this probably another case of mismatch. Here the in document defined Page size isn't available at the Printer list of supported pages. Instead of empty the nearest paper size matching the document defined page size should be used? I suppose this happens actually happens when printing something with page size the Printer can't handle?
I guess the page format is matched with the printer capabilities and you just cannot print C5 on your Epson neither the Canon. It sounds like an artificial corner case to me.

I ma not sure what the problem is: a) Empty line shown for paper size, but there are paper size entries in the drop down which can be selected! b) Dropdown empty, click on "\/" only shows empty selection area ?
