Description:
I opened a document I'd been working before the 'upgrade' and the new version trashed my layout!

Example 1: one of the images that I'd embedded in the document not only is it now fully word-wrapped (before it wasn't) worse, when I try to edit the image properties, I find that I'm locked out, so I can't modify it!

Example 2: All the formatting has been trashed as well. Caption texts are now truncated.

Example 3: The text that used be laid out correctly, is no longer laid out correctly, the document is now full of empty spaces!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I can't!
2. The new version trashed a document created with an older version
3.

Actual Results:
N/a

Expected Results:
N/a

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
There is NO help - About LibreOffice!

This is really frustrating! All I can tell you is that I 'upgraded' it this am to Version 7.2.4.1. (I note that this version is nor even listed!)

I'm using it on a MacBook Air running version MacOs 10.14.6

Try Help menu - Restart in Safe mode - Factory Reseting.

If I may, I've subsequently discovered that the problem with being locked out of dialog options boxes, seems to be pretty universal, all the button choices and even the Reset button don't work, for example when configuring a graphic.

It seems also, that loading a document alters the configuration of ALL images in the document, to that of Word Wrap and of course, this can't be changed.

Hi Bogdan,
No difference when running in Safe Mode.

Hello,

Can you share the document, or part of it, so testers give a try?
How is the layout in Libreoffice version 7.2.2.2? You can still find this recent version in the archive on LibreOffice download website.

I'm thinking of bug #145282 introduced in LibreOffice version 7.2.3 but I need more info to confirm this issue.

Thank you.

Hi,
Well firstly, I'm now editing the same document on my old iMac running Sierra 10.12.6, (the trackpad on my Macbook Air went west) but the same faults all persist.

Version: 7.2.4.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 27d75539669ac387bb498e35313b970b7fe9c4f9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

How do I get a sample to you folks?

On bug page see "Attachments" and click on "Add an attachement".
Comment 7 editor 2021-12-11 18:07:10 UTC
gotcha, thanx
Comment 8 editor 2021-12-11 19:38:12 UTC
That might be a problem. I'm writing a book, a biography, so I'm loathe to start uploading bits of it in Libre format. Will screenshots be of any use?
Comment 9 BogdanB 2021-12-11 20:00:59 UTC
Remove much part of documents, anonimize the document. Replace all the letters with some other letters. Make the document as so to be public on this bug. Otherway don't post it. Will stay here on bug report.

Yeah, I think I'll give that a miss if you don't mind, I've got enough on my plate right now. But I downloaded an earlier version:

Version: 7.1.8.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: e1f30c802c3269a1d052614453f260e49458c82c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Mac OS X 10.12.6; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

But no dif, do I need to delete anything else, and if so, where are they?

This bug makes sense only with minimal sample document that is OK in old version and NOK in new one.
If you cannot provide, bug can only be closed as Insufficient Data.
