The file I have reported to you ("Il Regno dei Funghi.doc") is opened and updated by the Windows WPS program. I think that Libre Office Writer has a bug probably in managing documents greater than 30 MB.

You can give a try to 7.2.4 LO version + rename your LO directory profile
(see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps#Corrupted_user_profile).
Comment 3 Missio Paolo 2021-12-09 11:23:43 UTC
Julien I'm sorry I installed version 7.2.4 as you suggested, but the problem is not solved.
In the Appdata User Profile is present the file .lock with the following information
[Lockdata]

and in the folder crash the file dump.ini with the following information

AS in version 7.2.2 all my doc and docx files are correctly opened.
It is sad to know that the file is quietly opened and updated with Microsoft Office and with the Windows program WPS.
Bye!
Paolo

Is "Il Regno dei Funghi.doc" something which can be made available so we can test it or it's private/confidential?

Yes,but the file size is 50,72 MB large. I try to aatach it in Attachements Section. But if the test fails I can send it by mail.
The attachement failed because the file is greater than 30000 KB.
Tell me if you naccept to have the file via Mail.

I prefer not receiving an email personally.
I never tested but you can try this:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Attachments
or use websites like DropBox
Comment 8 Missio Paolo 2021-12-11 17:05:50 UTC
The first proposal you suggested ...attachement does'nt work, and for second I'm sorry but I'm sorry I don't want to subscribe Dropbox.
I hope that the Attachement Section allow to attack files larger than 50 MB.
Comment 9 Julien Nabet 2021-12-11 17:09:24 UTC
Ok then.
If you find a smaller example file, don't hesitate to attach it.
