Description Jim Pester 2021-12-11 20:42:09 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice Ver 7.1.7.2 Impress and Ver 7.1.8.1 Impress both work running Microsoft Windows 10. Neither LibreOffice Ver 7.1.7.2 Impress nor Ver 7.1.8.1 Impress work running Microsoft Windows 11. When "Slide Show" is clicked and either Start At First Slide or Start at Current Slide is clicked a slide is presented but it matters not whether the keyboard down key is used or the mouse is used to go to the next slide nothing happens. The problem occurs whether the slide show was created in Impress or a Microsoft Office PowerPoint opened with Impress.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a [ODF] or [PPTX] file in Impress
2. Select Slide Show
3. Select Start at First Slide
4. Press keyboard down arrow to go to next slide
5. Nothing happens
6. Left click mouse to go to next slide
7. Nothing happens

Actual Results:
Nothing happens. Can not present a slide show.

Expected Results:
Nothing happened. The next slide was not presented.

Reproducible: Always

There are reports on slowness in Windows 11 like Bug 145963 and bug 145575.
To make sure if this depends on Skia, please uncheck in Tools-Options-View.
Comment 2 Jim Pester 2021-12-13 13:58:39 UTC
Bugzilla recommended unchecking Skia in Tools-> Options -> View
Problem solved. Slide Show now works.

So, please show us info from

Looks like bug 144090 and bug 144923.
Comment 5 Jim Pester 2021-12-13 15:35:41 UTC
LibreOffice as installed/Updated had Skia rendering checked but not "Force Skia software rendering"

With Skia unchecked there is no Skia.log
I re-checked Skia but not "Force" which produced the following log:

RenderMethod: vulkan
Vendor: 0x8086
Device: 0x8a56
API: 1.2.170
Driver: 0.402.1173
DeviceType: integrated
DeviceName: Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Denylisted: no

I checked "Use SKia for all rendering" and checked "Force Skia software rendering" which produced the following log:

RenderMethod: raster
Compiler: Clang

With both of these boxes check the original problem went away and Slide Show works. I have verified that the "Force Skia software rendering" is not checked when LibreOffice 7.1.8.1 is installed on a PC with Windows 11 but it is checked when installed on a PC with Windows 10.

Thanks! This is the same version that got deny-listed in bug 144923 (the change will be part of 7.2.5), which means Skia will be automatically disabled with this particular driver version.
