Description Marc Pare 2021-12-11 21:52:53 UTC
Description:
I have received from my accountant a PDF form that seems to be un-openable. I wonder if this is an issues that should be looked at as I have tested it is other open source pdf readers and they also are unable to open such files. I am attaching a test file for you to try.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LibreOffice Draw
2.Import .pdf test file
3.PDF file will not open and display Adobe-error

Actual Results:
Displays an Adobe error message.

Expected Results:
Expect to see the file in LibreOffice Draw

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
File was sent by an accounting firm. File is part of a tax return from the Canadian Revenue Agency. I have since found out on the MageiaLinux forums that there are other similar results with other PDF files.

Reproducible.
Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 7e5af164b7d293dd410710bed411e1ca64bbecf7
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 21390; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL

But it is a file password protected, maybe the reason for that.

You can see the protections on Adobe reader Menu/File/Properties - Security.
Comment 3 Marc Pare 2021-12-19 00:00:41 UTC
I can open on Firefox v.91.4esr and also on the Linux version of Master PDF Editor build 5.8.29, 64bit.

I cannot open on Google Chrome v.96.0.4664 and cannot open on LibreOffice-Draw v.7.2.4.1.

There should be no need to insert any password to open the file.

The file properties says that it was build with Designer 6.3

Let me know if you any more info.

Marc

Tried with Win-version.

Version: 7.2.4.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 27d75539669ac387bb498e35313b970b7fe9c4f9
CPU threads: 12; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22000; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI); UI: fi-FI
Calc: CL

Same problem. Doesn't work with Edge either. Firefox can open file, but .pdf - file macros doesn't work correctly.

.pdf File is crypted. Must be made to work only with adobe 7.0 and later.
Comment 5 Buovjaga 2022-01-07 13:02:53 UTC
Well, it should still be openable, so let's set to NEW

It will open in Adobe Acrobat DC, but not in Apple Preview.

According to the Document Security window, it has Encryption Level 128-bit AES. This is possibly a duplicate of Bug 55425.
