Description: One of the most used functions while I'm working with writer documents and calc spreadsheets is the zooming in/out. This affects the working (not print preview) window. Surprisingly it's unnecessarily difficult to set custom keyboard shortcuts for this. Keyboard zooming in/out should be enabled by default. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Need to zoom in 2. Have to take hands off keyboard and use the mouse 3. Not easy to assign shortcut keys to zoom in/out - Majority of users does not know how to do this Actual Results: Frustration, low efficiency Expected Results: enhanced efficiency Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Suggestion: assign zoom in/out to keys by default
Since the 7.1 release, the commands 'Zoom In' (uno:ZoomPlus) and 'Zoom Out' (uno:ZoomMinus) provide consistent canvas behavior for Writer, Calc and the Math-Formula editor modules. Users do need to assign their preferred keyboard shortcut(s) via Tools -> Customize There is no "default" keyboard assignment, that was intentional. The customization is highly personal and depends on user preference/experience. Work (easy hack of bug 45705) remains to adjust the same zoom in/out commands for use with Draw & Impress *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 45705 ***
