In a new Writer document: 1. Tools->Chapter Numbering 2. Switch to Numbering tab 3. Select "1-10" in Levels list. Note that Show sublevels shows 10. 4. in Show sublevels, click spinner's up arrow. Alternatively, put cursor to the Show sublevels edit box, and press Arrow Up key. Note that the value is still 10. The Preview shows dots to the left of all levels >1. Applying the change adds dots to corresponding headings. 5. Repeat steps 1-3 -> see that Show sublevels is blank. Regression after https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/54cc6c21c8669ce1b8e8bdaa5920a274cc8a9d4b tdf#144439: generate list format string on level change Vasily: can you please take a look?

However, I notice that before the bibisected commit the Show sublevels was blank too (step 5). The empty Show sublevels field in step 5 started to appear in 6.1. Before in 6.0 it contained the correct 10 after opening Chapter Numbering for the second time. This part seems to be an independent issue.
