Description kan 2021-12-18 13:10:52 UTC
Description:
I'll mention some places where I found this but it's not limited to these. Video of one menu is uploaded for example. I've checked in tabbed UI only and only in some components of LO.

Issue: The menu items change their locations slightly upon navigation in various menus some of which are mentioned below:

1. style menu in Writer [video example]
2. style menu under properties section in sidebar of Writer, Calc, Impress [pic1 highlights unexpanded menu]
3. font menu below the recently used entries in Writer, Calc, Impress [pic2 highlights unexpanded menu]

Steps to Reproduce:
1. expand the relevant menus in tabbed UI
2. navigate the options

Actual Results:
The menu items change their locations slightly upon navigation.

Expected Results:
Items should not change their locations.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

I am not able to reproduce with:

Version: 7.2.4.1 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 27d75539669ac387bb498e35313b970b7fe9c4f9
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-AU (en_AU.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Could you please update to the latest bugfix version for 7.2, and test again? Especially since there is a security fix in that latest version.

Also: I don't see the same kind of UI for the styles in the top tabbed bar. I see the big preview panel instead of a thin dropdown.
Can you confirm that you are using the "Tabbed" UI, and that you are looking at the "Home" tab? Did you customise the interface?

You can set this bug to "Unconfirmed" again once you provide that information.

updated to 7.4.1 but problems persists. Though big preview panel for styles eliminates that location from this issue [mine is menu type probably due to old config which I'm keeping for other settings, restart in safe mode gives preview panel but issue still persists elsewhere].

I think it's due to "windows 10 acrlyic dark" theme [by B00merang] that I'm using. When I switch to Mint-y-dark or Adwaita-dark, the issue is solved.

Thanks for following up.
For reference, the theme in question is this one: https://github.com/B00merang-Project/Windows-10-Acrylic-Dark

Do you see the same issue in other applications?

I am reclassifying to "NOTOURBUG" to be more specific.

No, not in any other app as far as I can remember.
