Description: Objects with aspect ratio 1:1 (squares and circles) are distorted when spreadsheet is edited. For example, square ( Insert → Shape → Basic Shapes → Square ) with a side length of 10cm can occupy space of 1007x1042 pixels (instead of 1042x1042). This issue also affects images, charts, QR codes, and probably all other graphical elements. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert a square ( Insert → Shape → Basic Shapes → Square ) 2. Take a screenshot 3. Use a graphics editor to determine how many pixels of height and width square in screenshot has Actual Results: Height and width of square differ. Expected Results: Square should have sides with equal lengths. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Writer and Draw do not exhibit this issue. When graphical elements are exported into PDF format, their aspect ratio is correct. Resetting user profile or disabling hardware acceleration of graphics output does not help. I replicated this problem in Linux Mint 20.3: LO 7.1.7.x and LO 7.2.5.2 Linux Mint 20.2 (liveDVD): LO 6.4.7.2 Windows 10 21H2: LO 7.2.5.2

See: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/distorted-geometry-of-objects-in-calc/72622 Reproducible at: Calc 7.1.8.1, Windows 10, with a 16:10 ratio screen at 1440*900 Calc 7.1.8.1, Linux 4.12, with a 4:3 CRT monitor at 1152*864 Calc 7.2.2.2 on Linux Mint with FHD monitor
@Regina You might be interested.. Also in 4.4.7.2 and in 4.0.0.3
(In reply to Telesto from comment #9) > @Regina > You might be interested.. I cannot help here. The shape geometry is correct as can be seen in the API values in the "Development tools". It is a rendering problem and such is outside my experience.

Only a poke, based on the fact that it does concern Calc and it might be important for good/reliability impressions. Charts/Images being often present in Calc. OTOH: problem being there for long time.. and you can spend budget only once.. Another question is who might know.. This is an rendering problem, so first name on my list would be Armin..
Dear Sławomir, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!
